Free Plan
The Free plan is designed for individuals and small teams who want to explore Datafi without a commitment. It includes core features with usage limits on data sources, queries, and AI capabilities.
The Free plan is a good fit if you:
- Are evaluating Datafi for a potential larger deployment.
- Need lightweight, personal access to a small number of data sources.
- Want to learn the platform before upgrading.
Business Plan
The Business plan is built for teams and departments that need full platform capabilities, expanded data source connections, and standard support. It removes most of the Free plan's usage limits and adds full governance, AI, and Insights features.
Enterprise Plan
The Enterprise plan is designed for organizations with advanced security, compliance, deployment, and scale requirements. It includes everything in the Business plan, plus custom identity provider integration, dedicated infrastructure options, a dedicated account team, and the highest SLA.
Start with the 30-day free trial. It gives you full access to all features, so you can evaluate the platform thoroughly before deciding on a plan.
30-Day Free Trial
Every new workspace automatically receives a 30-day free trial with access to the complete Datafi feature set. No credit card is required to start.
During the trial:
- All features from the Business plan (and most Enterprise features) are available.
- You can connect data sources, create Data Views and Data Apps, define policies, use Chat and Agents, and explore Insights.
- Usage is tracked so you can understand your query volume and estimate costs for a paid plan.
What Happens After the Trial
When the 30-day trial expires:
- Your workspace is transitioned to the Free plan automatically.
- Your data source connections, Data Views, policies, and configurations are preserved.
- Features that exceed Free plan limits become read-only or are paused.
- You can upgrade to the Business or Enterprise plan at any time to restore full access.
Datafi does not charge you automatically when the trial ends. You are moved to the Free plan unless you actively choose to upgrade.
Query-Based Pricing
Datafi uses a query-based pricing model. Instead of paying for idle infrastructure, user seats, or fixed data volumes, you pay based on the queries your workspace executes.
How It Works
- Every query executed across all access methods (web, ODBC, CLI, SDK, Data Apps) is metered.
- Your monthly bill is calculated based on total query volume and the compute resources consumed by those queries.
- Simple queries cost less; complex queries that scan large datasets cost more.
Benefits of Query-Based Pricing
| Benefit | Description |
|---|---|
| Pay for what you use | No charges for idle resources or inactive users. |
| Predictable scaling | Costs scale linearly with actual demand, not provisioned capacity. |
| No user-seat fees | Add as many users as you want without per-seat charges. |
| Transparency | The Insights page shows your query volume and estimated costs in real time. |
Use the Insights page to track query volume, identify expensive queries, and forecast your monthly bill. This helps you optimize costs proactively.
Reserve Pricing Discounts
For organizations with predictable query volumes, Datafi offers reserve pricing -- a commitment-based discount model that reduces your per-query cost.
How Reserve Pricing Works
- You commit to a specific monthly or annual query volume.
- In exchange for that commitment, Datafi applies a discount to your per-query rate.
- Queries up to your committed volume are billed at the discounted rate.
- Queries that exceed your commitment are billed at the standard on-demand rate.
When to Consider Reserve Pricing
Reserve pricing makes sense when:
- Your query volume is relatively stable month to month.
- You can forecast usage with reasonable accuracy.
- You want to reduce costs for large, predictable workloads.
If you are new to Datafi, start with on-demand pricing for the first few months. Use the Insights page to understand your baseline query volume, then switch to reserve pricing once you have a clear picture of your usage patterns.
Payment Methods
Stripe (Credit Card)
Datafi processes payments through Stripe for the Free and Business plans. You can add a credit or debit card directly in the billing settings of your workspace.
Stripe payments support:
- Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover).
- Automatic monthly billing.
- Invoice history and receipt downloads.
- Payment method updates at any time.
Bank Wire Transfers (Enterprise)
For Enterprise plan customers, Datafi supports payment via bank wire transfer. This is typically used by organizations that require purchase orders, net-30/60/90 payment terms, or centralized accounts-payable workflows.
To set up wire transfer billing:
- Contact the Datafi account team or your dedicated account manager.
- Receive a custom invoice with wire transfer instructions.
- Submit payment through your organization's standard AP process.
| Payment Method | Available On | Billing Cycle | Setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe (credit card) | Free, Business | Monthly (automatic) | Self-service in billing settings |
| Bank wire transfer | Enterprise | Monthly or annual (manual) | Contact Datafi account team |
