Frequently Asked Questions

Billing and Pricing

How does Datafi pricing work?

Datafi uses query-based pricing. You pay based on the number of queries executed against your connected data sources. This model ensures you only pay for what you use, rather than provisioning idle infrastructure. Each plan includes a monthly query allocation, and overages are billed at a per-query rate. Visit the Plans and Billing page for detailed plan breakdowns.

What is reserve pricing?

Reserve pricing allows you to commit to a fixed monthly or annual query volume at a discounted per-query rate. This is ideal for organizations with predictable workloads that want cost certainty. Contact your Datafi account representative to configure a reserve plan.

What payment methods do you accept?

Datafi accepts major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and ACH bank transfers for monthly billing. For annual contracts, wire transfers and purchase orders are also available. All payments are processed securely through our payment provider.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Datafi offers a 30-day free trial with full access to all platform features. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial period, you can upgrade to a paid plan or your workspace will be paused until you subscribe.

Data

Are there limits on data size?

Datafi does not impose limits on the size of your connected data sources -- your databases, warehouses, and lakes can be of any size. However, individual query result sets are limited to 100 MB by default (configurable by your administrator). Uploaded datafiles (CSV, Excel, JSON, Parquet) are subject to your plan's storage quota.

Does Datafi provide demo data for testing?

Yes. Every new workspace includes a demo dataset with sample tables (orders, customers, products) that you can query immediately. The demo data is designed to help you explore Datafi features without connecting your own sources first.

What data formats are supported for file uploads?

Datafi supports the following formats for datafile uploads:

FormatExtensionsMax File Size
CSV.csv500 MB
Excel.xlsx, .xls100 MB
JSON.json, .jsonl500 MB
Parquet.parquet1 GB

Deployment

Can Datafi be deployed on-premises?

Yes. Datafi supports on-premises deployment for organizations with strict data residency or regulatory requirements. In an on-premises deployment, all three services (Coordinator, Edge, and Client Library) run within your infrastructure. Contact the Datafi sales team for on-premises licensing details.

Which cloud providers are supported?

Datafi runs on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. You can deploy the platform on any of these providers, or use a hybrid model where the Coordinator runs in one environment and Edge nodes run in another.

Is Datafi available on the Azure Marketplace?

Yes. Datafi is available on the Azure Marketplace, enabling you to deploy and manage it through your existing Azure subscription and billing. Search for "Datafi" in the Azure Marketplace to get started.

Security

Does Datafi support Single Sign-On (SSO)?

Yes. Datafi supports SSO through Google and Microsoft identity providers. Users authenticate through your organization's existing identity infrastructure, and Datafi validates the identity token. No separate Datafi password is required when SSO is enabled.

Is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) supported?

Datafi enforces MFA through your identity provider. When your organization's SSO provider requires MFA, that requirement is automatically applied to all Datafi logins. Datafi does not manage MFA tokens directly -- it relies on the identity provider to verify the additional factor.

Is Datafi HIPAA compliant?

Datafi supports HIPAA compliance for customers on enterprise plans. This includes encrypted data in transit and at rest, audit logging, access controls, and the ability to sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Contact the Datafi sales team to discuss HIPAA requirements.

Does Datafi support PCI DSS and SOC 2?

Datafi is designed to operate within PCI DSS and SOC 2 compliance frameworks. The platform provides the technical controls -- encryption, access management, audit trails, and data isolation -- required by these standards. Datafi undergoes regular third-party audits. Contact your account representative for the latest compliance reports.

Does Datafi offer consulting services?

Yes. Datafi offers professional consulting services including implementation guidance, data architecture review, custom integration development, and performance optimization. These services are available as add-ons to any paid plan. Reach out to your account representative for scoping and pricing.

Is there a community forum or user group?

Datafi maintains an active community where users can ask questions, share best practices, and connect with the Datafi team. You can access the community through the help menu inside the platform or visit the Datafi website for links to community channels.
